2025 Marathon Course

The first 13 miles of the marathon race route travels across beautiful Brandywine Park on the Brandywine River, along prestigious parkways, through historic neighborhoods of Wilmington, near the 100 year old tower in Rockford park  and past downtown’s Rodney Square.  The second half of the marathon route is along the scenic and tranquil Jack Markell Trail making its way almost to New Castle and returning to the festivities at Tubman-Garrett Riverfront Park for the post race celebration with the other race participants.

The Delaware Marathon is proud to partner with the Abbott World Marathon Majors.

2024 RACE MEDALS

This year marks the 20th Anniversary of the Delaware Running Festival and we have a special medal in store for our finishers!
The center of the medal is designed to spin, allowing you to showcase two distinctive sides. One side features the distance you conquered, while the other displays a special 20th Anniversary logo. Turn the medal around, and you’ll discover a tribute to all the Wilmington streets our runners cover from the 5k to the Marathon!

2024 RACE PREMIUMS

You will commemorate your race day experience with an Under Armour tech tee emblazoned with the special 20th Anniversary logo! This name-brand training shirt does everything you need your quality training gear to do.

WATER STATIONS

The course will consist of 13 water stops which includes several that you will pass in each in each direction on the Markell Trail and one at the turnaround at New Castle Elementary School.  Due to limited access points on the trail, some spots on the trail are space more than usual. PLEASE PLAN ACCORDINGLY.  Feel free to bring your own hydration system (such as a camelbak) if you prefer.

Each water station will also offer port-a-pots for runner use.  On the trail, where you will pass them in each direction, we will offer additional units to alleviate congestion.
