Transportation:
Transportation from the downtown race hotels to Packet Pickup on Saturday, May
15, 2010 may be available by using
DARTs City of Wilmington Circuit Route #32
Wilmington Trolley. This public bus ($1.15 exact change required) can be
picked up at Rodney Square, a few blocks from our downtown host hotels. This
bus line runs from Rodney Square to the Wilmington Riverfront. Rodney Square
is located at 10th and Market Streets (across from the Hotel DuPont and the
Wilmington Public Library) in the heart of downtown Wilmington.
Sunday Transportation:
On race
day, only limited transportation from the Christiana Care Transportation
Department will be available. It is strongly suggested everyone drive to the
race START. There is plenty of parking in the Riverfront and only limited
transportation will be available on race day. If at all possible, please offer
your fellow runner a shared ride to the START.
A 25 seat Christiana Care shuttle will arrive at the downtown Sheraton Suites
at 5:15 am and depart at 5:20 am; arrive at the downtown Mariott Courtyard at
5:25 am and depart at 5:30 am and arrive at Tubman Park at 5:40 am.
This shuttle will return to the Sheraton at 6:00 am and depart at 6:05 am;
arrive at the Courtyard at 6:10 am and depart at 6:15 am; and arrive at the
Riverfront at 6:25 am.
Return
transportation from the Riverfront back to the downtown host hotels will
depart the Riverfront at 11:00 am; 12:00 Noon; and 1:00 pm. Your shuttle stop
will be at MLK Boulevard and S. French Street (in front of the Amtrak
Station).
Please
note: these shuttles do not service the Concord Pike hotels. We
understand the Brandywine Valley Inn has its own shuttle which may be running
on race day. Check directly with the hotel for details.
Location
of Tubman Garrett Riverfront Park:
Tubman Garrett Riverfront Park is located at the intersection S.
Market Street and Rosa Parks Drive just off Martin Luther King Boulevard on
the Christina River. It is located adjacent to the Wilmington AMTRAK Station
and the ING DIRECT bank offices on S. Orange Street and the Riverfront Market
on S. Market Street and Water Street. If you want to google an address:

Race Day
Parking:
2010 Delaware Marathon Parking Plan:
Please allow yourself enough time to arrive, park, and walk to the START on race
morning. While there is plenty of parking within walking distance of the race
START, the lots we are being asked to use are smaller and not quite as close to
the race START as they have been in the past. Please do not attempt to park at
Tubman-Garrett Riverfront Park as these surface lots will be closed to runners /
spectators.
FREE Parking for Participants and Spectators:
5 Delaware Tech Surface Lots: 2 lots at Second & Orange Streets; 2 lots at Third
and Orange Street; 1 lot accessible from Third & Tatnall Streets - 500 spaces
total - 4 blocks to Start
2 Colonial Parking Surface Lots: Walnut & Front Streets and Second & Market
Streets - 150 spaces total – 3 blocks to Start
CHASE Surface Lot: Second & King Streets – 100 spaces – 3 blocks to Start
Hollingsworth Building Surface lot – Water & West Street – 75 spaces – 4 blocks
to Start
Frawley Stadium Outfield Lots - Justison & Madison Streets - 550 spaces - 1/2

Behind the ING DIRECT B&O Building at S. Shipley and Water Streets. There are
only 12 spaces in this lot. You must email mail us for permission and sign a
waiver which must be on display on your vehicle.
PLEASE NOTE:
If you are part of a VIP Group, you must have a Delaware Marathon parking pass
displayed on your dashboard. Please see your group leader to determine . which
lot you are assigned.
